This Timken Extra Small S Series open ball bearing with no snap ring is suitable for applications that support radial, thrust, and combined loads. Under combined load scenarios, the thrust load should not exceed 60 percent of the radial load. Made from chromium-alloy, high-carbon steel, this bearing is designed for small shafts driven by motors under one horsepower. The steel cage evenly spaces the balls in the bearing for reduced friction, vibration, and noise, making the bearing suitable for electric motor applications where quiet operation is required. The open design facilitates lubricating the bearing in place and dissipating heat. Extra small open ball bearings are for use in small motor applications such as household appliances, film projectors, and precision instruments, among many other applications.Specifications Ball and roller bearings ISO 9001 Ball and roller bearings ISO 16949 Aerospace ball and roller bearings (excluding design and development) AS 9100 Ball and roller bearings and bearing components for aerospace EASA Part 145, EASA Part 21 Ball and roller bearings inspection CAAC Certificate Rolling bearings use rolling elements to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. These elements can be one of the following types: ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindle, or tapered. All rolling bearings are open, shielded, or sealed. Sealed bearings are lubricated with oil or grease in the bearing factory, while open and shielded bearings are meant to be lubricated in place, with periodic reapplication of lubrication, based on use. The shield protects the working parts of the bearing from environmental debris that may be introduced and could reduce the ball bearing speed and lifespan. Rolling bearings are used in a range of applications from agricultural machinery to conveying equipment, robotics, dental equipment, elevators, rolling mills, ship rudder shafts, and aggregate crushers, among others. The Timken Company manufactures a variety of bearings, alloy steels, and related components and assemblies that meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards for quality assurance. Founded in 1899, the Timken Company is based in Canton, Ohio.
