This saw is made by Thomas Flinn of Sheffield England the last traditional saw and plane maker in the UK and co-branded Pax / Taytools. This 6" jewelers saw has 25 teeth per inch. The teeth are very fine producing a finish that is extremely smooth making it the perfect saw for those delicate areas which need the best finish. The back is rolled solid brass and 1/2" wide by 0.160" thick. The folded brass back means the blade is held under tension offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the brass back aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. Saw plate is 0.012" thick with no set for a smooth and controlled cut. The handle is made from solid Walnut. Blade depth is 3/4" with 42 TPI. Saw plate is made from high carbon allow steel for durability and ease of sharpening. The teeth can be resharpened using a fine file.
