Michael Smith
With over a decade in valuation and advisory roles within a prominent international accounting firm, Mike Smith brings extensive expertise to the table.
Before joining the valuations group and earning his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation, he acquired comprehensive experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation while pursuing his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, which he obtained in 2014. Mike’s background in public practice accounting equips him with a wide-ranging understanding of financial matters, enabling him to effectively communicate complex accounting and valuation issues to clients. Furthermore, Mike has been recognized as an expert witness and has provided testimony in the Supreme Courts of British Columbia.
Outside of Work
Mike has called the Okanagan home for more than three decades, having been raised in this picturesque region. Nowadays, you’ll often find him enjoying time with his wife and two sons at parks or camping. When he’s not immersed in family activities, you can spot him on the ski slopes, golf course, or exploring local wineries and breweries. Mike is also involved in local not-for-profits to varying degrees, with a passion for helping youth engage in outdoor recreational activities and sports.
